Vale do Sol Trail -
Nova Lima
Nova Lima is a municipality in Minas Gerais, located 22 km from Belo Horizonte, featuring a rugged terrain with significant elevation variations. Surrounded by mountain ranges like Serra do Espinhaço and Serra do Curral, it is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain biking. The region boasts a diverse ecosystem, from Atlantic Forest remnants to high-altitude fields, and offers numerous ecological parks and protected areas, making it a vibrant hub for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.
The hike in the Vale do Sol district of Nova Lima was a 7.5 km trail with an elevation gain of 438 meters. The trail featured a viewpoint offering a stunning view of the valley and transitioned from dirt roads to forest paths. It led through various landscapes, including dense woods, before reaching the valley's bottom at Cachoeira dos Fechos.
The first section of the trail is very dusty and is also used by bikes.
Continuing on, after the dusty section, we moved on to a trail through the bushes, with beautiful views.
The final stretch of the trail was quite steep, winding through the forest, descending to the valley floor.
Finally, we reached Cachoeira de Fechos waterfall, with its crystal-clear waters and the tranquility of nature, in a super relaxing spot.
