Danube River - Vienna
The city of Vienna is crossed by the Danube River (Donau). This is the second longest river in Europe, which runs from the Black Forest, in Germany, up to the Black Sea, in Romenia. Among others, this river inspired the composer Johann Strauss II, for the famous classic The Blue Danube Waltz.

In the middle of the Danube River is located the Donaupark, a park with a large green area and the Danube Tower.

On the other side of the river we have the Danube City (Donaustadt), the largest district of Vienna. It is ground to many of the international organizations offices in the city, like the UN complex.

Following are some photos of Viena's night view, including the view from the Wiener Riesenrad. This ferris wheel was built in 1987 and was the world's tallest one from 1920 until 1985. Up to these days it still has its original wagons working.
